Thérèse Bécotte
Thérèse Bécotte studied piano with Mrs Pierrette Froment-Savoie, a famous pianist currently teaching at the Gatineau Conservatory. Thérèse completed a Bachelor in Music at the University of Ottawa, where she had the chance to study piano pedagogy with M. Gilles Comeau. After studying some piano methods, learning good pedagogic strategies and understanding important psychological issues, she chose the Suzuki method as her teaching approach. The Suzuki philosophy is based on love, patience and respect, and puts great emphasis on musicality, music appreciation and a good relationship between student, parents and teacher. Thérèse did the Suzuki Workshops with Mary Craig Powell and Fay Adams. She also received her ARCT in piano performance with the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. She joined the Faculty in September 2013,has a studio is located in Gatineau(Hull, plateau)and will be teaching in French.
